Sounds of Spring

Sounds of Spring:
I always remember the sounds of spring,
Going outside to hear the birds sing. (chirp, chirp, tweet, tweet).
The sunshine comes out and the snow melts away,
Hear the spring breeze on this beautiful day. (shoo, shoo)
Listening to sounds of rollerblades and bikes, (crooo, crooo)
Skateboards, scooters and things of the like.
I remember we’d yell as we rode down the hill,
“Look out beloww!” before going as fast as we will.
Hearing the skipping ropes tapping on the ground,
Singing and counting, one more round. (clap, tap)
The sound of making hopscotch with chalk, (shuu, shuu)
The sound of running shoes taking a walk. (clap, clap)
Listening to the swings squeaking at the park, (eee!, eee!)
Hearing in the distance, the sound of a dog bark. (woof! woof!)
Little kids going fast down the slide, (wee!, wee!)
Playing tag and running games, another race we’ve tied. (“It’s a tie!”)
We hear the loud sound of a plane overhead, (fwoo!,fwoo!)
We look up, wave and yell “Hi!” instead.
We all decide to play Hide-and-seek,
This game we could honestly play all week. (“Ready or not, here I come!”)
Hearing basketballs thumping down the street, (boing, boing, thump, thump)
Looking at the garden, the flowers smell so sweet.
Hearing the sound of a trimmer cutting the grass, (neeer, neeer, bshhh, bshhh)
And the sound of the mower cutting the mass.
Still not tired, lots to do,
A game of hockey we could play, or two. (slap, clap, crrr)
Then a cloud covers the sun,
Looks like rain will ruin our fun.
With the water the nature grows,
We wish it’d be sunny, but this, we know. (drip, drip)
We run in and laugh about everything,
These are all the sounds of spring.
